Some right-wing pundits and politicians are coming out against US support for the Ukraine war, arguing that taxpayer dollars ‘should not be going to those Ukrainians’ but should be spent at home. Brian Becker of the ANSWER Coalition says that while it’s true the war has ‘overstretched’ resources for working people in the US, the $64 billion spent on Ukraine doesn’t actually go Ukrainians. “The money is going to the capitalist corporations that make up the military industrial complex — in other words, rich Americans.”
