In Brooklyn, 35 of 40 arrests for violation of social distancing were Black. In Georgia, video of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery has sparked national outrage. Dreasjon Reed was gunned down by police less than a week later. Overall crime and arrests are way down but Black men are still being killed at the same rates.

In US news and current events today, racism during coronavirus continues despite the lockdown. 3 people in 24 hours were killed by Indianapolis Police. Among them was 21-year-old Dreasjon Reed (Sean Reed). Protests in Indianapolis against police brutality emerged in response. Reed caught the whole incident via his Instagram Live. Protesters were shot with pepper balls. Ahmaud Arbery’s death has sparked national protest, with social distancing protests emerging to demand justice.
