Colombia just had one of the closest, most contested elections in its history, with far-right candidate Abelardo de la Espriella holding a razor-thin lead over progressive Iván Cepeda – a margin of roughly 250,000 votes that Cepeda’s campaign is now challenging at tens of thousands of polling stations, alongside allegations of foreign interference in the vote-counting software.

Zoe Alexandra discussed the latest on the vote count, the electoral fraud that is not being talked about, and how the candidates are responding.

She also discussed the possible impact of de la Espriella’s presidency both on Colombia’s left and progressive sectors, and on the region as a whole, especially as he has vowed that Colombia will join Trump’s “Shield of the Americas,” a move that would put the historic centerpiece of the US drug war back inside Washington’s security framework.
