Guinea-Bissau war of independence
The war ended when Portugal, after the Carnation Revolution of 1974, granted independence to Guinea-Bissau, followed by Cape Verde a year later.

On January 23,1963, guerrilla fighters of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC), a marxist revolutionary group, officially started the Guinea-Bissau War of Independence by attacking the Portuguese army stationed in Tite. The war ended when Portugal, after the Carnation Revolution of 1974, granted independence to Guinea-Bissau, followed by Cape Verde a year later.
